Road Vs Mountain Bike

If you are a newbie biker, you truly need to know the inequity in the middle of these two types of bikes for your first pedals cycling guide.

First, let's tackle about road bikes. This is the best type of bike if you are exclusively riding on paved streets. It has a lightweight frame and features skinny tires which can get you around faster than any other bike. It is generally built for racing purposes and designed to allow the most aerodynamic position. You will find it exquisite for fitness riding, commuting, touring and pedals cycling in long distances. Be sure to avoid potholes and rough surfaces because its lightweight frame can hardly withstand those surfaces.

If you choose this bike, better learn about its two types of handlebars. First, the drop-bar deal with bar is lightweight and lets you ride in a more aerodynamic position. However, if you have back problems, consider pedals cycling with a flat bar handlebar instead. This type of deal with bar lets you ride on a slightly more upright position that reduces strain on your hands, wrists, shoulder and back. Moreover, it gives you a better view of the road ahead but the main caveat is it is less sufficient from an aerodynamic standpoint.

bicycle Types - The Three Major Categories

Depending on the type of riding you prefer there is a bicycle specially designed for that style. It can be said that there is not one bike that can do it all. Try taking a road bike down a mountain trail and you will not like the results. And although a downhill bike can assuredly supervene the trail of a road bike, it will not do so very effectively.

There are three major categories of bicycles, road, mountain, and hybrid. Each of these categories will have sub categories supplementary defining a specialized role. And even then these sub categories can be broken down into dissimilar types as well. A good example of this would be a mountain bike in the all mountain sub category falling into one of two dissimilar types, full suspension or hard tail.

Road bikes are the easiest type of bicycle to explain. They are meant primarily for riding on hard paved surfaces. The frames are very lightweight and stiff. A stiff frame equates to a very responsive ride without the soft feel that you would feel in other types of frames. There will not be any suspension on a road bike. The tire will be very narrow and pumped to a high pressure of over 100psi.

New Mtb Disc Brakes - What Do I Need and How to Install?

New Mtb disc brakes are a huge upgrade for your bike. They look marvelous and are much more good in carrying out then rim brakes (V-brakes). But you have to spend some money to get the components you need. Check this out to get the knowledge to upgrade your bike with Mtb disc brakes.

The most prominent part is the wheel hub. You need a hub with one of the following mounting standard:
International acceptable (Is) (a six-bolt mount) Centerlock (licensed by Shimano) five-bolt (licensed by Hope) three-bolt (licensed by Hope and another system licensed by Rock Shox) there are many other mountings for mtb disc brakes... The second thing you need is a Mtb fork respectively a frame with an Is or Pm mounting. Is means International acceptable and Pm means Post Mount. It doesn't no ifs ands or buts matter which mounting you have or your brakes have there are any adapters from one to the other mounting, so don't care about what type you have.

Of course you need a rotor (disc) for your Mtb disc brakes. This depends on the brake you got. Some manufacturers have special discs such as Avid, Hope, Hayes and Shimano. The best way is to get the disc the constructor suggests. You can choose in the middle of some disc sizes.
140 mm 160 mm 180 mm // 183 mm // 185 mm 200 mm // 203 mm // 205 mm 220 mm These are to common ones but there are some others for special manufacturers. Anyway there are adapters for nearly every size.
